Signed Notre Dame officially announced a new 10-year contract with men’s basketball coach Mike Brey. The school said that the deal will run through June 2022. Financial terms were not disclosed. Brey has led the Irish to six straight 20-win seasons. He has been named the Big East coach of the year three times.

• The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms on a multiyear deal with safety Michael Griffin after designating the five-year veteran as their franchise player back in March.

• The Ottawa Senators say they agreed to terms with Norris Trophy finalist Erik Karlsson on a seven-year contract extension. Karlsson will reportedly earn $45.5 million.

Darren Helm agreed to an $8.5 million, four-year deal to remain with the Detroit Red Wings.

• The Minnesota Wild re-signed goalie Josh Harding to a three-year contract.

Died Former U.S. men’s team head coach Alketas “Alkis” Panagoulias has died. He was 78. USA Soccer and the Greek Football Association confirmed that he died on Monday in Vienna, Va. A native of Greece, Panagoulias led the U.S. men from 1983-85, and also guided the 1984 Olympic team.

Sentenced A judge in Opelika, Ala., sentenced former Auburn football player Antonio Goodwin to 15 years in prison for an armed home-invasion robbery that also resulted in charges against three teammates from the 2010 national championship team. Lee County Circuit Court Judge Christopher Hughes imposed the sentence while Goodwin, 21, stood silently with arms behind his back.

Declined Los Angeles Lakers guard Ramon Sessions is declining his player option for next season to test free agency. Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said he wishes Sessions had picked up the $4.55 million option for next year, but the club will still make an effort to sign the point guard.

Dropped Prosecutors in Dallas, dropped a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Aqib Talib. The decision was made a week before Talib was due to be tried for allegedly firing a gun at his sister’s boyfriend.
