Harriet Fern Adams of Spokane Valley, Wash-ington, went home to her Savior to celebrate her 91st birthday, on March 1, 2012.

Harriet was born March 1, 1921 in Omak, WA to Frank and Georgia Hendrick (Featherly).

She grew up and attended school in Omak.

Mrs. Adams graduated from Central Washington College of Education and did graduate studies in choral conducting at San Francisco Theological Seminary and earned a Masters in Music from Whitworth College.

On June 17, 1951 Harriet married John W. Adams of Little Rock, Arkansas.

She taught music throughout the state of Washington, most recently at Northwest Christian High School where she directed the Sounds of Faith Choir for 10 years, including performances at the Expo ‘74 World’s Fair.

Mrs. Adams organized and directed a city-wide church choir for the Spokane Centennial Celebration, helped organize and teach worship seminars at the Christian Worker’s Conference in Spokane, and directed adult and children’s church choirs throughout Spokane.

She also taught music for home schooling families and was a member of the PEO.

Harriet loved people and always had a smile (and a song) ready to greet you.

Even after retirement, she continued directing choir at the Orchard Crest Retirement Home.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her five children: Mike Adams, Keith Adams, Molly Fazio, Wendy McIndoo, Laurie Wendt, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 4:00 in the afternoon at the Spokane Valley Bible Church, 3021 S. Sullivan Road, Spokane Valley, Washington.

Memorials may be made in her name to Northwest Christian Schools or Spokane Valley Bible Church.
