Obituary: Geschke, William P. “Bill”
Bill Geschke passed away on March 16, 2012 in Cheney Washington.
He was born on July 25, 1918 in Ritzville, Washington.
He graduated from Washtucna High School.
He married Barbara Bonn on March 10, 1941.
Bill and Barbara moved to Cheney in 1943 and he began his real estate career in 1956.
He later founded Cheney Realty, retiring in 1980.
During retirement, Bill and Barbara enjoyed spending the winter months in Arizona.
Bill was a lifelong member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cheney and was also a member of the Cheney Chamber of Commerce.
Bill had a love for Cheney and always remained interested in the Cheney community.
A very special part of Bill’s life was spending time with his grandchildren and great- grand-children.
Bill is survived by his brother, Ernie and sister-in-law.
Bertie; son Gary and wife, Sue; daughter Bonnie Davis; five grandsons Gregg Geschke (Sarah), Ryan Geschke (Bridgit), Drew Davis (Renee), Alex Davis, and Nathan Davis, six great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife Barbara; his brother Jerry; his parents Fred and Martha and his son- in-law, Dan Davis.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church or to the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be Monday, March 19, from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 639 Elm St. in Cheney, Washington.
