Gladys Irene Severson, 85, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away on March 22, 2012.

Gladys was born July 11, 1926 in Calgary, Alberta to Charlie and Effie Jensen.

Gladys was the third oldest of four children.
Gladys I. Jensen married George C. Severson on May 5, 1945 in Tacoma, WA.

George and Gladys loved to travel.

They spent the winters in Yuma and Mexico for several years, as well as traveling to Alaska to fish and camp.

They lived many years in Spokane before moving to Bayview, Idaho and finally to Post Falls.
Gladys was an avid fisherman and always caught the most!

She was good with tools and knew how to fix things.

She was known for her friendship and generous smile.


Gladys worked at the U.S. Post Office and retired from Washington Water Power (now called Avista)
Gladys is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, their three children, David Severson (Elaine), Linda Shurtleff (Douglas), and Cheryl Rice (Robert K.); four grandchildren, eight great-grand- children, and one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nephews and nieces.

She had many close friends and neighbors as well.
Preceded in death by her parents, sister and two brothers as well as two grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at Leisure Park Club House in Hayden, Idaho on Friday, March 30th, at 1:00 PM.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
