BUCK, Lila M. (Lyons-Hoisington)
November 29, 1936 - January 24, 2012 (Age 75)

Lila M. Buck - of Kelso, WA, died January 24, 2012 in Wenatchee, WA surrounded by her family.

Lila was born November 29, 1936 to Earl and Mary (Martzall) Lyons on Happy Hill, near Ford, WA.

After the death of her parents, she was raised by her older sister Olive and her husband Lloyd.

In 1955, she married Stan Hoisington and had five children.

From 1968 until 1975, Lila owned and operated the Burger Stop in Airway Heights, WA.

In 1975, she married Lloyd Buck and they moved to Kelso.



In 1990, she opened the Café (formerly the In & Out) in Longview.

Serving a full menu including her secret recipes, working 15 hours a day, 6 days a week, the Café was like coming home and Lila did it all, head cook and chief bottle washer.

Lila retired from the Café in 2008.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, all ten of her brothers and sisters, her husband Lloyd and her grandson RJ Hoisington.

She was survived by her children, Gloria (Doug) Jamme, Sonny (Lou) Hoisington, Randy (Jana) Hoisington all of Spokane; Jim Hoisington of Arizona and Marylin (Steve) Young of Wenatchee; her stepchildren, Barb (Gary) Radmer, Laurel (Howard) Smith, Billy (Theresa) Buck all of Kelso; Deann Slape of Longview; Dean Buck, Rhonda Johnson, Linda (Lee) Curtis all of Spokane; her “just like a sister” niece, Mary (Jim) Spencer; her “just like brothers” nephews Dave (Karen) Clark of Spokane; Allen (Holly) Clark of Chattaroy; Anthony (Susie) Clark of Ford; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



During Lila’s final months she was kept company and cared for by two of her granddaughters who both had a special place in her heart Mary Lough and Amanda Larrabee who showed care, compassion and strength when she needed it most, we THANK YOU both!



You will be missed every day by many…Little Short Blonde Lady.

Inurnment will be Sunday May 13th, 2012 at Noon, Pleasant View Cemetery on Happy Hill near Ford, WA, followed by a “bring your favorite DESSERT” remembrance at the Youth Center in Ford to share stories.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA.
