Bike lane coming: A new bike lane on the south side of Appleway Boulevard will feature two solid white lines about 2 feet apart. The new “buffered” bike lane will run along Appleway between Dishman-Mica and University roads. It is being installed as part of a repaving project. Senior traffic engineer Inga Note said that the two bright white reflective stripes will be more conspicuous than a single stripe and provide an extra measure of safety. Appleway can support the wider bike striping because the lanes in that segment are wider than normal traffic lanes, she said. (Jesse Tinsley)
