Obituary: Shaw, Carolyn Margaret (Gay)

SHAW, Carolyn Margaret (Gay)
(Age 52)

Carolyn Margaret Shaw passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of May 16, 2012.

She is the daughter of Willard and Margaret Henry of Seattle, Washington.

Reluctantly she left behind her husband, children, three brothers and animals to meet the Lord.

This ended her courageous four year battle with advanced stage cancer, during which she constantly thought of others before herself.
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Carolyn went on to get her B.A.

in Business Administration from the University of Washington.

As a C.P.A.

she worked her adult life in the Banking Industry in Seattle and later in Spokane; most recently serving as a Senior Vice President at Intermountain Community Bank/Panhandle State Bank in Spokane.

Carolyn loved muscle cars, swimming, skiing, raising children and dogs, and remodeling houses.

She was actively involved in local churches and the United Way, and previously served as Chairman of the Board for Spokane Baptist Association of Homes.

Most recently she was on the Board of Directors for Spokane Housing Venture.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Chris, son Alex, daughters Hanna and Alyssa, and her brothers Steve, Fred and Ron Henry.

Carolyn always was a gentle, strong and wise woman and we all will miss her dearly.

A dignified but informal memorial service will be held Monday, May 28th at 9:00 a.m. at the Southside Senior & Community Center, 3151 E. 27th Avenue, Spokane, Washington; all are welcome.
