Obituary: Wakefield, Donna Faye

WAKEFIELD, Donna Faye (Allen)

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on May 19, 2012, after a sudden, courageous fight against cancer.

Donna was the dear wife of Lee Mark Wakefield for 62 years and the loving mother of eight living children and one child lost hours after birth.
Donna grew up on her mother’s farm on Wild Rose Prairie and went to Iowa, Montfort and Mead high schools.

She loved flowers, taking care of her humming birds, watching the Mariners and Gonzaga basketball, fishing with her husband, her Wednesday hair-do days with lunch at the Cathay Inn and spending time with her large extended family.

Donna was the assistant manager at the Spokane Country Club for 21 years.
Donna is survived by her husband Lee at the home; eight children, Deborah, Mark (Patti), Gayla Goolie, Diane Moran, Connie (John) Towner, Scott, Richard (Bette) and Leanne, all of Spokane, WA.

She has 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her son David Eugene, mother Bertha (Burchett) Batty, father Warren Allen, sisters Frances Waldren, Vivian Hefren, Virginia Johnston, Evelyn Allen and brothers Warren and Vernon Allen, grandson Jerome, sons-in-law Mike Moran and Frank Goolie.
We would like to give special thanks to her doctors and staff and to Horizon Hospice for their loving care.
