Record for Redman

Spokane’s Jamie Redman is part of a USA women’s 8 team that will be rowing in a finale today at the World Rowing Cup in Luzern, Switzerland. Redman – along with teammates Mary Whipple, Caryn Davies, Carol Lind, Taylor Ritzel, Meghan Musnicki, Amanda Polk, Susan Francia and Esther Lofgren – set a world record on Friday. The team finished the 2,000 meters in 5 minutes, 54.17 seconds, more than a second better than the previous world record – set in 2006 by an American team. Redman’s team will compete against Canada, The Netherlands, Australia, Great Britain and Germany in today’s final. Two other women’s crews from the United States will also compete in today’s finale.
