SATTERLEE, Jack H.
(Age 81)

Jack died May 26, 2012 at home in Spokane.

He was born December 13, 1930 in Bradford, PA to George and Milly Satterlee.

Jack grew up in Wellsville, New York.

During high school he worked delivering telegrams on his bicycle.

He graduated from high school in 1949 and joined the Air Force.

In 1950 he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Margaret Mullin.

Together with their kids they crisscrossed the country as he reported to various Air Force bases for work.

Jack retired in 1970 as MSgt and then went to work for many years at URM.

Jack had many hobbies including wood working, reading and writing poetry.

He loved cars, track meets, traveling, Christmas, penguins and Walmart.

Jack delighted in telling stories about his past and, above all, he loved his family.

He founded the Satterlee Croquet Invitational; now in its 32nd year — bringing generations together for fun every summer.

Jack was a man of integrity.

He had a sharp mind, a quick wit and a ready smile.

He never knew a stranger.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret and their children Jack H. Satterlee II , George Satterlee, both of Spokane, Ann Warner (Patrick), Liberty Lake and Jill Edens (Jerry) of Marysville, WA, plus six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many fantastic friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans or the Salvation Army.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Veterans Hospital and Clinic for their care as well as Family First Senior Care.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 1, 2012 at 1pm at Heritage Funeral Home.
