“With his family by his side, he was escorted by a host of angels into the waiting arms of our Lord.



Born in Elmira, ID, where he lived and attended school in a one-room school house until his family moved to Spokane in 1946.

He graduated from John Rogers High School in 1950, and then worked briefly for the Railroad prior to working as a Printer at C.W.

Hill Printers from 1950 where he remained until 1976.
Eugene served in the U.S.

Naval Reserve from 1949-1954.

He married his wife of 52 years, Julia, in 1960.

In 1976 he went to work for Telephone Utilities in Medical Lake.

He was active in Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite, as well as Ham Radio and Community Radio Watch.


Preceded in death by his grandson, Shelton Douglas Conrad.

Survived by his wife, Julia; daughters Laura (Tom) Gates, Linda (Rich) Willems, son John (Kathryn) Milhous; grandchildren Ariana, Briley, Conrad, Travis, Jason, Eareckson; great-grandson, Logan; brother, Alvin Conrad; and numerous nieces and nephews who were also very dear to him.

Our love for you, and the wonderful memories we share,
will forever be in our hearts.


In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Eugene’s memory to Hospice of Spokane, who helped provide amazing support, care, and compassion in Eugene’s final weeks.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Word Of Life Church, 6703 N. Idaho Rd, Newman Lake, WA.
