Obituary: Carter, Ruth L.

Age 77

CARTER, Ruth L. “Ruthie” 3-29-35 - 11-14-12 Ruth was born in Saguache, Colorado and was a longtime resident of Spokane, WA.

She was employed at Saad’s Shoe Repair for 58 years where she was an icon in the downtown community and served generations of Spokane families.

Ruth enjoyed her family, crocheting baby blankets for the First Covenant Church Baby Blanket Ministry, traveling, taking care of her pets and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her sons Danny L. Brooks (Maria) and Felix Lee Galvez (Jennifer); sisters, Margaret Rosario, Elsie Jabbora, Judy Reppert, and Jane Gagnon.

Also eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Charles H. Carter.

Memorial Service will be held on November 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
