Obituary: Richardson, Marianne Ericson

RICHARDSON, Marianne Ericson
(Age 82)

Marianne passed away at home on July 8, 2012 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born July 1, 1930 in Spokane to Helen M. Robertson and Norman A. Ericson.

Marianne attended school in Spokane, graduating from North Central High School in 1948.

That same year she married Henry W. Richardson.

In 1949, they had a son, Don Robert Richardson.

In 1950, Hank and Marianne were divorced and he returned to active duty with the U.S. Air Force.

Marianne attended Kinman Business School and began a career as a secretary, working for Whitehouse-Price architectural firm.

In 1957, Hank returned from duty overseas and they were reunited in marriage.

Following his career in the Air Force, Marianne and Don moved to Travis A.F.B.

in California and then to Minot A.F.B.

North Dakota.

In 1967, the family moved back to Spokane and while Hank served three tours in Vietnam, Marianne went to work for the Washington Dept.

of Social and Health Services.

She served for many years as secretary to the Region 1 Administrator and at Pine Lodge, retiring in 1995 from the department.

In 2008 she moved “home” to Whitefish, MT and the lake and mountains she so dearly loved from her youth.


She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Edward L. Kozisek and husband Henry.

She is survived by Don and Susan and grandsons, Beau and Robert.

Her lifelong love of animals suggest that memorials be made to Spokanimal and the Humane Society.
