Obituary: Skalstad, Richard D.

Age 70

SKALSTAD, Richard D. (Age 70) Passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013.

He was born to Christian and Karly Skalstad on February 11, 1943 in Spokane.

He was the youngest of six children.

He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1961.

He married Connie Olsen in 1963 and had two children, Christian and Sally.

He was a member of Beacon Chapel for many years.

He worked at Walter’s Paint Co. for some time and then transitioned into sales.

He worked for Peerless Sunpuft Co. for several years and then moved to U.R.M as a sales representative for 20 years.

“Dick” was a gifted salesman who truly cared about his customers.

He was U.R.M Salesman of the Year/Distinguished Salesman many times.

Above all else, he loved his eight grandsons, Bradley, Joshua, Zachary, Richard, William, Jerry, Luke, and Ben.

He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Doris Mosier, and brother Robert Skalstad.

He is survived by his children Christian (Kirsten) Skalstad, Sally Skalstad-Gores (Mark), his sisters Marlys Skalstad and Lillian Pearson, brother Raymond (Ann) Skalstad, eight grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

Our thanks, love and gratitude go out to his sister, Marlys, whom was unwaivering in her love, care and support for our Dad.

Services will be at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe, Spokane, WA on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 2:00pm followed by a graveside service at Riverside Memorial Park, Spokane, WA.
