Small college football: Linfield, Carroll ousted from playoffs

Wisconsin-Whitewater sacked Linfield quarterback Josh Yoder seven times in the second half and the fifth-ranked Warhawks (13-0) rallied from a 17-point deficit en route to a 28-17 victory over the second-ranked Linfield Wildcats (12-1) in a NCAA Division III West Region Final on Saturday in Whitewater, Wis.

The Warhawks advance to play Mary Hardin-Baylor of Texas in the semifinals on Saturday.

Cumberlands (Ky.) 34, Carroll College 27 (OT): Adam Craig connected with Iquan Deed for a 12-yard TD in overtime and the top-ranked Patriots (14-0) held off the third-ranked Fighting Saints (12-2) in a NAIA semifinal game in Williamsburg, Ky.

The Patriots will play Grand View on Dec. 21 for the NAIA championship. Grand View advanced with a 35-0 win over Morningside.
