She was born in Waverly Washington, January 31, 1916 to Otto Felgenhauer and Margaret Juergens.
She was the twelfth of thirteen children.
Her father passed away in 1918 and she and her ten surviving siblings were raised by their widowed mother.
She graduated from Waverly High School in 1934.
In 1937 she met and married Frank Fieser.
They farmed outside Fairfield for many years.
In 1952 they built her dream home in Fairfield where she lived for 58 years.
She and Frank loved square dances and card parties which they hosted many times.
She was a charter member and contributor to the Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, long time member of the Waverly Grange and assisted in civic projects throughout her long life.
After husband Frank passed away in 1964, she donated many hours and days at the Good Samaritan Home in Fairfield where she provided special comfort to residents, including her mother, styling and setting their hair.
Then at age 60 she started a full time job at the home as a nursing assistant and retired from there.
Her last few years were spent in assisted living facilities in Spokane until she moved to Fairfield’s new Fairfield Care.
On the day of her move she remarked “I ‘m home, I’m home.”
She is survived by one sister, Edna Bailey of Ocean Shores Washington and many nieces and nephews over four generations.
She will be deeply missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on February 9th at the Fairfield Presbyterian Church.
She will be interred in the Rosewood cemetery.
Remembrances in Esther’s name may be made to Fairfield Care, 503 S. Hilltop Lane, Fairfield WA 99012.
