Obituary: White, Evelyn Jean “Evie”

Age 89

WHITE, Evelyn Jean “Evie” (Age 88) Evelyn passed away on January 2, 2013 at Hospice House in Spokane, WA.

She was born January 24, 1924 to Raymond and Iva Keenholts in Brighton, OR.

The family moved to Seattle where she graduated from Roosevelt High School.

She married her husband, George, in 1945.

They had three children, Diane, Richard, and Douglas.

In 1960 the family moved to Spokane.

Evie devoted her life to her family.

Vacations included trips to Seattle to visit family and camping trips to the coast.

Evie and George made several trips to Hawaii which they especially enjoyed.

She was a good cook and liked to entertain at home.

Mom and Dad were married for 67 years.

They did everything together.

Dad took wonderful care of her in the last few years when her health declined.

Evie is survived by her husband George; daughter Diane Veltri (Mitch) of Spokane; granddaughter Carissa Veltri of Richland, WA; sister Ruth of Shoreline, WA; numerous neices and nephews and their families.

She is preceded in death by her sons Douglas and Richard, parents, sister “Honey,” brothers Jim, Art and Ed.

We know Evie is with them now.

We would like to thank Providence VNA, Guardian Angels Home Care and Hospice House for their care and support in recent weeks.

We thank God for the time we had with her.

She will be missed by many.
