Three adults, two children injured in Rathdrum collision

Five people were injured in a crash Friday afternoon at Idaho State Highway 53 and Ramsey Road in Rathdrum.

Eric D. Prentice, 30, was southbound on Ramsey about 6:30 p.m. when he ran through a stop sign on Highway 53. A Ford Focus driven eastbound on Highway 53 by Julianna J. Kamps, of Post Falls, crashed into Prentice’s Ford Explorer, according to the Idaho State Police.

Prentice and his passengers, Michelle Prentice and two children, were injured and taken to Kootenai Medical Center. Kamps was also injured and transported to KMC, the ISP said.

Everyone in the crash was wearing a seat belt, the ISP said.

Prentice, of Almira, Wash., didn’t see the stop sign and traveled through the intersection at about 50 mph, the ISP said. He was cited for inattentive driving.
