Obituary: Jones, Matthew L. (Age 45)
He was born February 21, 1968 in Spokane, WA to Roderick and Chris Jones.
Matthew graduated from Roger’s High School in Spokane.
He served in the US Army, was stationed in Giessen, Germany and served in Desert Storm and was awarded 2 bronze stars.
Matthew was a long time resident of Rathdrum, ID.
During a blizzard on Dec 31, 1992 he married Stephanie Straw in Post Falls, Idaho.
He was a family man that enjoyed riding his motorcycle and restoring old Volkswagens.
He had a love for athletics, especially soccer.
Matthew is survived by his wife Stephanie at home, son Tyler Jones of Rathdrum and daughter and son in-law; Blythe Jones and Corey Kunde of Rathdrum and a grandson; Forrest Matthew Merle kunde.
Matthew is also survived by his father, Roderick & Marsha of Bremerton, WA and mother, Chris & Jeff Johnson of Deer Park, WA, and brothers: Kelly Jones of Spokane and Shaun Jones of Gig Harbor, WA also his mother and father in-law, Ron and Shelly Straw of Rathdrum.
There are also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 12th at 9am at Washington’s Veteran Cemetery in Medical Lake with Memorial services at 11 am at Real Life Ministries at 1866 N. Cecil Rd in Post Falls, ID.
