In brief: PFD board seeking artists’ submissions

DOWNTOWN – The Public Facilities District Board and the Spokane Arts Fund is looking for artists interested in creating art for the Exhibit Hall Completion Project at the Spokane Convention Center.

The total budget for the project is $50,000.

Artwork will be indoors and will be located in a public lobby as an overhead sculpture or mobile that creates a light source.

Artists should not submit specific proposals at this time, but submit digital images of their art, a résumé and artist statement at www.callforentry.org by 5 p.m. on July 26.

Veterans, military offered free oil change today

SPOKANE COUNTY – Select NAPA AutoCare Centers and Tire-Rama shops will offer free oil changes to active-duty and retired military personnel today from 6 to 8 p.m.

Oil changes will be offered one per person on a first-come, first-served basis. Military ID or other proof of military service is required.
