GU women play
The top-seeded Gonzaga women will face No. 4 BYU, which eliminated No. 5 Loyola Marymount 69-57 Friday, in the WCC tournament semifinals at noon today. GU (25-5) beat BYU 74-59 in Spokane and 66-55 in Provo. BYU (21-9) defeated GU in last year’s title game.
“You can never relax against them because they can score 3 at a time, they’re in the top 10 nationally in 3-pointers, and we have to contend with (6-foot-7 Jennifer) Hamson inside,” said coach Kelly Graves.
Stephanie Seaborn made seven of BYU’s 13 3-pointers against LMU. Hamson added 19 points and 13 rebounds.
The game is scheduled to be shown on BYUtv (Comcast 232, Time-Warner 123, Direct 374, Dish 9403).
