Obituary: Butters, Lyle L.

BUTTERS, Lyle L. (Age 75) He passed away at home surrounded by his wife and four children March 5, 2013.

Born April 23, 1937 to Lyle H. Butters and LeYonda Sorensen in Malad, Idaho.

His parents moved frequently and he grew up in several places including Ogden, UT, Spokane, WA, Tri Cities, WA and then back to Spokane.

Lyle married his childhood sweetheart, Arlene Jo Cusick, on September 28th 1957 in Spokane and they raised four children.

Lyle attended Kinman Business University after high school (Rogers) and attained an accounting degree.

He worked as an accountant for several places including the Farm Credit Banks of Spokane and the Spokane Housing Authority.

As man of faith with a love of country, Lyle diligently taught all who knew him the founding principals that he believed made America great.

His strong belief in the U.S. Constitution guided him throughout his life and impressed upon all who knew him these ideals that the founding fathers established.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was an active member of the John Birch Society for many years.

Lyle joined the Washington Army National Guard for nine years.

He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Arlene and his children - son, Russell (Laura) Butters, daughter Jennifer (Scott) Brett, daughter Jill (Brian) Hert and son Jack (Carisa) Butters; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with two on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Rachel Butters Reed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday March 11, 2013 at 11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - 2112 W. Francis Ave. Spokane, WA 99205.

Viewing will precede the funeral at 10am.
