Age 81

FREITAG, Barton J.

(Age 81) Barton passed away on March 7, 2013 in Cheney, WA.

He was born on September 26, 1931 in Sidney, MT to Alfred and Marie Freitag.

In 1949 he graduated from Mead and joined the Navy Reserve for five years.

Barton married Alma on June 4, 1956 in Colbert, WA and they spent 56 years together.

After living in Montana, Texas and Washington, Barton retired from working at Eastern State Hospital for 35 years as a security supervisor.

He enjoyed gardening, painting, leather work, riding his horses, fishing and hunting.

He was a Zags fan, loved music by Alan Jackson and enjoyed family gatherings.

Barton is survived by his wife, Alma; daughters, Irene, Tami (Tom), Vicki (Bob); sons, BJ (Laurie), Karl (Gina); sister, Joyce; brothers, David (Norma Jean), Leonard, Charles (Ida Beth); sister-in-law, Jeanette, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Marie Freitag; brother, Robert; and sister-in-law, Grace.

An Inurnment will take place at 1 pm on Friday, March 22 at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, followed by a Memorial Service in Sunset Chapel at 1:30 pm.
