Georgia vs. Iowa State

Jasmine Hassell leads fourth-seeded Georgia in scoring (13.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg). (Associated Press)

Region: Spokane

Coach: Andy Landers

Record: 26-6

Top scorer: Jasmine Hassell, 13.0 ppg

Top rebounder: Hassell, 6.4 rpg

Keys to victory: Physical play and pressure defense could give the Bulldogs an edge. Georgia doesn’t figure to overwhelm teams with long-range shooting, but the Bulldogs will challenge Iowa State with their ability to drive to the basket. Georgia has a decided edge in bench scoring. The Bulldogs must contend with Iowa State’s size inside.

Region: Spokane

Coach: Bill Fennelly

Record: 24-8

Top scorer: Hallie Christofferson, 15.7 ppg

Top rebounder: Chelsea Poppens, 9.4 rpg

Keys to victory: The foul situation could play a big part. The Cyclones lead the nation in free-throw shooting and hit 17 of 18 during Saturday’s win over Gonzaga. A thin bench means Iowa State can’t afford foul trouble. The Cyclones used six players extensively in the GU win. Iowa State always has ball-handling concerns, as evidenced by 23 turnovers against GU.
