Girod was preceded in death by parents Vernon and Phillis McReynolds, brothers Bob and Virgil McReynolds, and one son, Alan McReynolds.
Girod leaves behind a wife, Dolores (Layman) McReynolds; son Steven McReynolds; daughter-in-law Naomi McReynolds; grandsons Michael, Eric, Jacob McReynolds; one great-grandson Lucas McReynolds; and one sister, Loretta Dilbeck from Marietta, GA.
