Sasquatch see season reach end

After opening with a win over Clackamas, Community Colleges of Spokane (34-16) volleyball team saw its season end with a loss to Olympic at the NWAACC tournament Saturday in Gresham, Ore.

Dana Norris and Korrie Stephenson combined for nine kills in the Sasquatch’s 25-10, 25-18 loss.

• Leticia Silva and Kayla Martin had 18 kills apiece to guide third-seeded Western Nebraska (40-4) past No. 9 North Idaho (17-12) 3-2 in the fifth-place match of the NJCAA tournament in Casper, Wyo. Larissa Claassen had 14 kills and 22 digs to lead NIC. Russia Robinson was named to the all-tournament team.

No. 1 Blinn beat No. 2 Tyler for the title.

• Gonzaga’s WCC season came to a close with a 3-1 loss to Pacific (14-15, 7-11) in Spokane. Savannah Blinn had a team-high 13 kills for GU (11-16, 7-11).

• Allie Schumacher had 12 kills and 10 digs as visiting Eastern Washington (10-21, 7-13) closed with a 3-1 Big Sky win over Weber State (7-27, 3-17).

Wrestling

North Idaho dominated Highline and Doane at the Cardinal Duals in Coeur d’Alene. NIC won 9 of 10 matches against each team. The Cardinals beat Highline 41-4 and Doane 52-3.

Swimming

The Idaho women finished third at the Houston Invite.

The Vandals’ Rachel Millet won the 200 free in 1:48.11.

Erica Anderson and Laura Griffing both set school records in the 100 breaststroke. Griffing did it first in the prelims (1:03.14) and Anderson (1:02.65) bettered the mark in the finals.
