Obituary: Allen, Kathleen T.
She was born on July 7, 1950 to Helmer and Isabelle Stensland in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
She married Ellery J. Allen on April 19, 1975 in Coeur d’Alene.
They resided in Spokane Valley and she retired from Lilac Plaza where she worked for 38 years.
She is survived by her husband, Ellery; her sisters, Ruby (Bruce) Dawson of Hayden Lake, ID, Otella (Tom) Redl of Peck, ID, and Sharon Braga of Cabot, AR; and brother-in-law Richard Braga of Palmer, AK.
She is also survived by her step-children, Sheila Vega of Loma Linda, CA, and Darryl Allen of Port Hueneme, CA; also many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Lewis and Thea Stensland; brothers, Laverne Stensland of Post Falls, ID, and Ronald Stensland of Sandpoint, ID.
She loved camping, fishing, yard sales and shopping at Walmart.
She loved animals of all kinds.
She loved her squirrels at Lilac Plaza which sat on her shoulder and ate peanuts out of her pocket.
She was a compassionate, loving and giving person.
She was always helping the local food banks, Toys For Tots and the local schools.
It was her passion to help people.
Her laughter was contagious and she was always making people laugh.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
There will be a family gathering at their home, 7822 E. Baldwin, Spokane Valley, on Thursday, September 5, 2013, from 2:00-4:00 PM.
