Obituary: Newton, Bette Jene

NEWTON, Bette Jene Bette passed away peacefully to sit on the lap of Jesus on September 13, 2013 with her family at her side.

She was born November 10, 1925 in Klamath Falls, ID to Adam and Ethel Bartell.

Bette worked for Rosauers as a meat wrapper for 37 years.

She volunteered at Deaconess Hospital during retirement for 15 years.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church for 64 years; having served in many leadership positions.

Proceeded in death by: her mother Ethel Bartell; father Adam Bartell; sisters Verona Conners and Neva Arnett; and brother Wayne Bartell.

Mother to four children: Carrene (John) Roseveave of Newman Lake, WA; Dale (Toni) Newton of Spokane Valley, WA; Dawn Newton of Spokane, WA; and Julie (Paul) Dupree of Maputo, Mozambique.

Bette had six grandchildren: Tanner Newton; Trevor; Tyler (Kathy) Newton; Jordan (Angie) Newton; and Christian and Danielle Dupree.

She had two great-grandchildren: Chance and Justice Anderson We would like to thank the wonderful staff of Sullivan Park Care Center and the third floor staff at Valley Hospital for their loving care of Bette.

Memorial services will be held Saturday September 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5810 S. Meadowlane Road, Spokane, WA Memorial contributions can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
