Obituary: Wright, Steven O.

Age 70

WRIGHT, Steven O.

Passed away on Sunday, August 3rd in Rosalia, Washington.

He was 70 years old.

Steve was born on February 12, 1944 in Hollywood, California to Joseph and Jean Wright.

He grew up in Elmhurst, Illinois, and Westfield, New Jersey.

He graduated from Westfield High School in 1961.

He attended Colorado State University, Fort Collins and graduated with a degree in Industrial Construction Management in 1966.

He was a member of Sigma Phi Fraternity.

After graduating college, Steve was a proud member of the Naval Sea Bees in Port Hueneme and served two tours in Vietnam, DaNang and Quang Tri, followed by a tour on Yap Island in the Trust Territories.

After the war, Steve enjoyed working for numerous construction companies in Texas and in California before starting his own Construction Company building homes.

Steve also spent many years working in the environmental and haz mat fields.

In 1968, he married Cathy Livingston from Van Nuys, CA.

They had two children that they raised in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

He is survived by his children, Amy Sharp and husband Chris Sharp, and his grandchildren, Kyle age 12 and Emily age eight, from Thousand Oaks, and by his son, Eric Wright and wife Jennifer Wright both of Westminster, Colorado.

He is also survived by his mother Jean Wright, sister Diane Weber and husband Don, and their children Josh, Rachel and Tim all from Spokane, WA.

Steve fulfilled his dream of living in the Pacific Northwest and enjoyed his time in the Spokane, WA area.

Steve loved all sports, was an avid reader, loved to socialize and will always be remembered for his witty personality, sense of humor and lengthy stories.

Steve never knew a stranger.

One of his favorite times of the day was when he was with hanging out with his Rosalia friends and playing with his dog, Abby.

Steve’s memorial service will be held on Monday, August 11th at 11:00 at the St. Aloysius Church located at 330 East Boone Avenue, Spokane, WA.

For those that cannot attend the service, a live stream will be available to view at www.stalschurch.org In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s memory can be made to either the Wounded Warriors at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or the Humane Society.
