Football roundup: Brandan Bowen powers Wampus Cats to win

Brandan Bowen rushed for six touchdowns and returned two interceptions for scores as Clark Fork routed Lewis County 52-8 at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow. Bowen contributed to all of the Wampus Cats’ points, as he also passed for a pair of two-point conversions. The Wampus Cats forced six turnovers.

• Grangeville 43, Moscow 18: Layton Harris tossed a pair of touchdown passes and Michael Wilson added a fumble return for a score as the Bulldogs pulled away late to defeat the visiting Bears 43-18. Jake Clark threw two touchdown passes to grab a 12-6 halftime lead for Moscow.

• Lakeland 24, Lewiston 10: Tyrel Derrick rushed for three touchdowns as the Hawks posted a 24-10 opening-night victory over the host Bengals. Derrick started Lakeland with a one-yard score in the first half. After the teams exchanged field goals, Lewiston took the lead in the third quarter when Tyler Eberhardt punched it in from two yards out.
