UPDATE
The dog returned home this afternoon. He apparently had wandered off and wasn’t stolen.
Original story
A woman’s pet Rottweiler was stolen from a backyard kennel early this morning in Coeur d’Alene.
Susan Ross told police she left her one-and-a-half-year-old Rottweiler, Remington, in his backyard kennel on Tuesday evening around 5:30 p.m. She then left her home to stay with friends. When she returned early this morning, she discovered the dog missing. Police responded to the theft call at 3:13 a.m.
The kennel door had been locked when Ross left, she said. Ross told police that Remington is friendly and does not bark. She valued him at $1,000.
