Obituary: Veley, Raymond Curtis

Age 72

VELEY, Raymond Curtis 72 Years of Life A lifelong Deer Park, Washington resident, and a farmer and rancher on Wild Rose Prairie, passed away peacefully in Spokane on Saturday, December 28, 2013.

Born to Fred Veley and Bernice Schneider Veley on May 4, 1941, Ray was the youngest of four children.

He attended the Deer Park schools, was the Deer Park High School Student Body President in his senior year and graduated with the Class of 1959.

Ray married Lynda Bloss and they have two children: Lori Veley Robirts and Todd Veley.

He enjoyed two granddaughters, Sami Robirts and Kiele Robirts along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother.

Upon graduating from Deer Park High School, Ray began driving truck and was a member of Teamsters, Local 690, retiring in 1996.

He continued to farm on his ranch on Wild Rose Prairie, loved fishing, slot machines, gambling, and beer.

A Memorial Service celebrating Ray’s life will be held at the Deer Park Eagles’ Lodge on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the afternoon.
