Love’s late 3 finishes WV’s rally over EV

Jake Love buried a 3-pointer in the closing seconds and West Valley overcame an early 10-point deficit to beat East Valley 62-60 Friday night in a Great Northern League game at West Valley.

Love secured a rebound, drove to the 3-point line, and sunk the game-winner. East Valley’s desperation shot at the buzzer was off the mark.

Love finished with 22 points and Martin Herford added 15 for West Valley (10-2, 3-1), which rallied after falling behind 23-13 after the first quarter.

Mason Tidd and J.T. Phelan combined for 23 points for East Valley (8-5, 3-2).

Pullman 64, Clarkston 61 (OT): A.J. Miles led four players in double figures with 19 points and the first-place Greyhounds (10-1, 4-0) slid past the visiting Bantams (10-2, 2-2). Tanner Therien added 11 points and 11 rebounds for Pullman. Trevor Sperry led Clarkston with 16 points and eight boards.

Colville 61, Cheney 46: Matt Hubbard scored 21 of his game-high 31 points in the second half and the Indians (7-4, 2-2) pulled away to beat the host Blackhawks (1-10, 0-5). Cheney’s Alex Berman and Brett Wyborney scored nine points apiece.

Northeast A

Lakeside 92, Kettle Falls 45: The Eagles (11-3, 6-0) erupted for 30 first-quarter points and eased past the Bulldogs (5-8, 0-6) in Nine Mile Falls. Spencer Reynolds tallied a game-high 20 points for Lakeside. Ryan Quigley added 14 points and Cody Watkins chipped in 13 for the Eagles. Connor McKern and Tyler Johnson combined for 24 points for Kettle Falls.

Newport 76, Chewelah 61: Jeron Konkright scored 31 points and the Grizzlies (7-7, 3-3) built an early lead in a win over the host Cougars (4-10, 1-5). Mason Miller scored 24 points and McKenzie Miller added 15 for the Cougars.

Riverside 50, Freeman 38: Tyler Axtell scored 25 points and the Rams (12-2, 5-1) pulled away in the fourth to beat the visiting Scotties (5-7, 3-3). Riverside made 10 of 13 free throws in the final quarter and outscored Freeman 22-10. Colin Ayers scored 11 points and Ryan Maine and Michael Pierce added nine apiece for the Scotties.

Northeast 2B

St. George’s 53, Northwest Christian 32: Dexter Sienko scored 20 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to guide the Dragons (16-0, 10-0) past the visiting Crusaders (10-6, 5-5). Erik Muelheims added 18 points for St. George’s, which forced 21 turnovers. Ryan Ricks led Northwest Christian with 10 points.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 65, Reardan 58: Connor O’Neill and Dylan Hartz scored 20 points apiece as the Broncos (12-1, 8-1) beat the host Indians (4-12, 0-10) in a game delayed an hour by a power outage. Skylar Peone tallied a game-high 26 points for Reardan.

Springdale 73, Colfax 47: Callan Ward made 12 of 15 shots and finished with 24 points and Josh Anderson dished out 12 assists as the Chargers (4-12, 3-7) defeated the visiting Bulldogs (7-8, 5-5). Chandler Carr added 18 points for Springdale. Hunter Weitze led Colfax with 12 points.

Northeast 1B North

Republic 69, Inchelium 47: The Tigers (6-6, 3-3) pulled away after a tight first quarter and beat the visiting Hornets (2-6, 2-4). Republic’s Aaron Fritts had 19 points, six steals and six assists and Kodie McQuay added 10 points and eight boards.

Curlew 67, Northport 25: Gunner Brown scored 17 points and Aaron McCullough and Daniel Tresham each added 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Cougars (7-4, 5-1) dumped the visiting Mustangs (0-13, 0-7). Shane Xia led the Mustangs with seven points.

Selkirk 67, Columbia 22: Shawn Mailly led four players in double figures with 18 points and the Rangers (7-8, 5-2) routed the Lions (2-12, 1-5) in Hunters. Selkirk opened the game on a 23-2 run and cruised the rest of the way.

Northeast 1B South

Valley Christian 65, Wilbur-Creston 56: Grant Marchant scored 16 points and Bo Piersol added 14 points and 14 rebounds as the Panthers (9-4, 3-0) used an early advantage to get past the visiting Wildcats (10-4, 2-1). Brad Gage added 15 points for Valley Christian.

Southeast 1B

Pomeroy 82, Tekoa-Oakesdale 37: Max Ruchert scored 14 points as the Pirates (12-1, 8-1) grabbed control from the get-go and raced past the visiting Nighthawks (1-7, 1-6). Cooper Angelo tallied eight points for Tekoa-Oakesdale.

LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 57, Liberty Christian 38: Darcy Stamper scored 23 points and Stephen Erickson added a season-high 12 points to lead the Tigercats (2-7, 1-6) past the Patriots in LaCrosse.

Garfield-Palouse 77, St. John-Endicott 26: Matthew Holbrook had 23 points and five steals and Tyler Thurman added 22 points and five steals as the Vikings (11-1, 7-1) routed the Eagles (0-11, 0-7) in Garfield. Caleb Hudson led St. John-Endicott with 10 points.

Rosalia 73, Colton 45: Craig Nelson scored 24 points and Ryan Maley added 18 as the Spartans (6-5, 4-3) dumped the host Wildcats (6-3, 5-3).
