PUYALLUP, Wash. – Authorities said a man in Pierce County is in custody after fatally stabbing a soldier.
The stabbing occurred early Sunday morning at a home near Puyallup, the News Tribune reported.
The 29-year-old suspect first stabbed a 36-year-old woman in the back and then stabbed a 34-year-old man in the chest when that person tried to intervene, Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. The man died of his injuries while the woman is at the hospital and expected to survive.
