Police recover $100K of suspected stolen goods in Moses Lake

A police search of a home near Moses Lake yielded more than $100,000 worth of property thought to have been stolen, including a Bobcat earth-mover valued at $77,000, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said. Four men are in custody of the Grant County Jail on various criminal charges, including possession of stolen property and controlled substances. Authorities searched the home at 4562 Road N-Northeast just after 9 a.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. Joel L. Wright, 46, is listed as the renter of the property searched. He faces a charge of first-degree possession of stolen property. Tate Wright, 19; Corey Sweet, 40; and Patrick Pearson, 41; were also arrested Monday, according to the news release. Detectives continued to inventory the property discovered into the afternoon. Police say some of the stolen items have been traced to Spokane and Lincoln counties. The Bobcat was reported stolen from Yakima County, according to the news release. The search also turned up several items thought to have been stolen from a Moses Lake grocery store, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
