Obituary: Aaronson, Odella I.

Age 85

AARONSON, Odella I.

(Age 85) Odella I. Aaronson was born on June 23, 1929 in Butte, MT, to Ole and Marie Nelson Bakke.

She lived there until 1944 when she and her mother moved to Olympia, WA, where she finished high school.

Following high school, where she had additional secretarial training, she found a job at different businesses until she became an executive secretary with Unagard Insurance in Seattle.

In 1968 she met her future husband, Clarke while they were both singing in a choral group at her insurance company.

In September of 1969 they were married.

From then on she was devoted homemaker and wife.

She had no children but shared with her husband his three children from a previous marriage.

She and her husband loved to travel, including vacations in Hawaii, Norway (home of both her parents), and Europe including a church tour of Israel.

Odella was a member of 4th Memorial Church and was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ since 1969.

She loved to sing, performing in church choirs and local choral groups here in Spokane.

She remained very active until 2008 when she developed a chronic progressive neurological condition and slowly got worse.

Two years ago, she had to go into an assisted living home.

She remained always cheerful, smiling lots and laughing lots.

Her continued joy was a great blessing to those around her.

Swallowing food and liquids became more difficult and on July 29, 2014, after a ten day battle with pneumonia she passed.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Clarke Aaronson of Spokane, WA, and Allan and Arlen Dominik, her closest cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
