Obituary: Carstens, Steven Donald
Age 64
He was born May 14, 1950, in Newport, Washington, to Don and Alice Carstens.
Steve is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Carstens (husband) Erik Jenson, Shawna M. Carstens; mother, Alice Carstens; sisters, Dixie (Randy) Shukle, Susan (Lanny) Hughes; brother, Jack (Joanne) Carstens; grandsons, Conner, Logan and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Carstens.
After attending Cusick High School, Steve moved to Yakima where he worked for several years at Layman Lumber Company.
After leaving the sawmill he worked as a semi-truck driver.
For the last nine years Steve acted as a Caregiver for his parents in Mead, Washington.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed hunting, thoroughbred horse racing, Texas hold-em poker, family vacations and gatherings.
Steve will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at 3:00PM at the Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport.
