Obituary: Donlan, Patricia Ann

Age 78

DONLAN, Patricia Ann (Age 78) Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Patricia (Patty) Ann Donlan, 78, died quietly on May 19, after a long and difficult struggle with lymphoma and lung disease.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Mike; her children, Katie Stephens (Doug), Tom Donlan (Jeanne), Maureen Sorenson (Steve) and Timothy Donlan (Dennis); and her grandchildren, Jennifer and Patrick Sorenson, Connor and Ian Stephens, Tyler and Zach Donlan and Wagner Jumaquio.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen; her parents, Frances and Marie Skahan; and her brother, Jack.

She is also survived by her brothers, Jim Skahan (Carol), Bill Skahan (Shirlene); sisters, Frannie (Bob) Graves and Ginger (Jim) Hogan.

She also has many nieces and nephews.

Patty was born in Missoula, Montana.

She graduated from Missoula County High School and subsequently graduated from Gonzaga University where she received her degree in Education (subsequently she received her Master’s Degree).

She taught school in Bellevue, Washington, West Allis, Wisconsin and in Spokane, Washington.

She retired from teaching in 1995.

She was a member of the Junior League in Spokane.

She was a wonderful cook and quilter and particularly enjoyed getting together with friends and family.

She enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, with the entire family.

She was a strong believer in “Ohana” (family) and that was a main cornerstone of her life.

She will be sorely missed - but the memories remain undiminished.

Heaven is an even better place now!

A Memorial Mass will be held in Spokane at Assumption Church, 3624 West Indian Trail Road, Spokane, WA at 11:00 AM on June 14, 2014.

A lunch reception will follow at the Davenport Hotel.
