Obituary: Thoren, Richard Allen

THOREN, Richard Allen Son of Donald and Jean Thoren of Coulee Dam, Washington, passed away on January 27th in Spokane.

He was 64.

He is survived by his brother Terry Thoren, children, Laura Thoren and Patrick Thoren, three grand-children, two nieces and numerous cousins.

During school he excelled in track, basketball and academics, later becoming Valedictorian of Coulee Dam High School class of 1968.

He attended EWU, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology.

He lived in Cheney and Spokane during his adult life and enjoyed karaoke, photography, bike riding and auto mechanics.

Despite battling health issues most of his life, he remained independent, made lasting friendships and maintained ties with his family.

A service will be held at 12 p.m. March 15th at Spring Canyon Cemetery in Grand Coulee.

Following the service, family and friends will gather to remember him at 1 p.m. at Melody’s Restaurant & Lounge, 512 River Drive in Coulee Dam.
