Sun Devils will have hands full with No. 1 seed Notre Dame

Arizona State coach Charli Turner Thorne joked that her team is hoping to shoot about 80 percent from the field in tonight’s game against heavily favored Notre Dame. That’s unrealistic, of course, but the Sun Devils will have a plan when they face the unbeaten Fighting Irish in Toledo, Ohio. Ninth-seeded Arizona State (23-9) will try to force Notre Dame to rely on its half-court offense. The Irish (33-0) are a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament for a third consecutive season and showed no signs of slowing down in a 51-point win over Robert Morris in the first round Saturday.
