Police: Neighbors help nab hit-and-run suspect

From staff reports
Witnesses helped Spokane police arrest a suspect in a hit-and-run injury accident in north Spokane on Monday afternoon. Roderick Thomas, 25, was booked into Spokane County Jail on Monday evening, facing a single count of leaving the scene of an injury accident. Thomas was apprehended following a collision that occurred at the intersection of Cedar Street and Wabash Avenue around 3 p.m., according to a news release. When police arrived, the victim driver was still on scene but Thomas had driven away, according to police. One witness was able to provide Thomas’ license plate number, and another reported seeing Thomas pull into a garage several blocks away with a damaged bumper. Thomas was taken into custody without incident. The victim driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
