A man accused of robbing bank branches in Idaho and Utah, including a Coeur d’Alene credit union last month, is behind bars after allegedly attempting a repeat heist near Pocatello over the weekend. Randy T. Jordan, 44, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Idaho last week on two counts of bank robbery. Coeur d’Alene police and the FBI released surveillance footage of the alleged robbery that occurred Oct. 4 around 1:45 p.m. at the Global Credit Union branch at 320 E. Neider Ave. Witnesses said a man, who authorities believe is Jordan, showed a gun and left the bank with $1,244 in cash. In a previous alleged robbery in July, Jordan made off with more than $8,000 from an Idaho State University Credit Union location in Chubbuck, north of Pocatello. Authorities there told the Idaho State Journal that Jordan returned Saturday to that Chubbuck branch, four days after the grand jury indicted him for the previous charges. He was taken into custody at a nearby restaurant without incident, though authorities say a pipe bomb was found in his car. No future court dates have been set for Jordan, who also faces bank robbery allegations out of Utah, the Idaho State Journal reports.
