Obituary: Silvey, Dorothy

Age 81

SILVEY, Dorothy (Age 81) Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, surrounded by the many people who loved her.

She was born in Fargo, ND, on June 4, 1933 to Omer and Marjean (Crites) Watson.

The family then moved to Garfield, WA, where she grew up with her seven siblings.

On June 10, 1950, she married Maurice (Morrie) Silvey.

In 1955, they moved to Spokane Valley, WA, where they raised their four children.

Dorothy spent a great deal of time helping friends, neighbors and family.

Dorothy and Morrie were awarded the Good Neighbor Award by the Spokesman Review for their unending service to others.

Dorothy is survived by her son Mike (Clare) Silvey; and daughters Val (Ben) Singer, Terry (John) Webb, and Stacie (Wade) DeGeest; her six siblings: Nancy Cochran, Jean McCown, Carolyn May, Omar Watson, Riley Watson and Paula Collier; her grandchildren: Monica (Sean) Clancy, Ryan (Katy) Webb, Chad (Lindsay) Beadell, Heather (Ryan) Butner, Jared (Laura) Silvey, Kelly (Jameson) Keller, Eric (Jessica) Webb, Robin (Gary) Kossuth, Jamie Webb, Madisen DeGeest and Conner DeGeest; her great-grandchildren: Jadyen, Jace, Brodie, Beau, Joey, Ella, John, Logan, Molly, Ben, Sophie, Ethan, Hudson, Hayden, Alexander and Camryn; and her many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10:00am.

Interment will follow at Pines Cemetery.
