Adams collects honors

It was a loss, but a victory nonetheless for sensational Eastern Washington junior quarterback Vernon Adams Jr.

Adams earned a variety of awards for his school-record seven-touchdown performance against Washington last Saturday. Eastern lost 59-52 as Adams finished with a career-high 475 passing yards – the second-most in school history.

He was The Sports Network NCAA Football Championship Co-Offensive Player of the Week, and was one of five National FCS “All-Stars” as selected by College Sporting News. Also, College Sports Madness and ROOT TV gave Adams their Big Sky Player of the Week honors.

Eastern remained ranked second in The Sports Network FCS top 25 poll with North Dakota State solidifying its hold on No. 1.

Eastern has a bye this week and is at Montana State on Sept. 20.
