People: Bobby Brown tells concertgoers his daughter is awake

From Wire Reports

Bobby Brown told concertgoers Saturday night that his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is awake nearly three months after she was found face down and unresponsive in a tub at her Georgia home.

In a video, Brown tells the crowd during a concert appearance at the Verizon Theatre in Dallas that “Bobbi is awake,” adding that “she is watching me.” The crowd screamed after his remark.

Brown’s family has said she’s “fighting for her life” since she was found unresponsive Jan. 31. The 21-year-old Bobbi Kristina is the only daughter of Brown and the late Whitney Houston.

Bobbi Kristina Brown has been moved to an undisclosed location since being released last month from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Fourth Beatle joins Rock Hall of Fame

Ringo Starr was ushered into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a little help from one of his famous friends.

The mop-topped drummer who kept the beat for the Beatles, Starr was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist Saturday night during a ceremony jammed with scintillating performances and touching moments.

Starr was the last of the Beatles to be inducted for his individual work, getting in after bandmates Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison.

Starr was inducted along with Green Day, underground-icon Lou Reed, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, soul singer-songwriter Bill Withers, guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band and The “5” Royales.

The 74-year-old Starr was inducted by McCartney, who said he could always count on Starr to have his back on every song.

“You don’t have to look with Ringo,” McCartney said. “He’s there.”

Starr, amazingly fit and looking 20 years younger than his age, then stepped to the podium and said: “My name is Ringo and I play drums” – as if anyone didn’t know.

He was then joined on stage by Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh on “It Don’t Come Easy” before McCartney came out to play bass, the two living Beatles jamming again to “A Little Help From My Friends.”

The evening concluded, as it always does, with an all-star jam, this time to “I Wanna Be Your Man.”

HBO will broadcast the event on May 30.
