Obituary: Brown, Lillian Mae

Age 89

BROWN, Lillian Mae April 2, 1926 - April 15, 2015 Lillian Mae Brown was born to Fred Dorendorf and Edna Bliesner on April 2, 1926 in Kellogg, Idaho.

She attended and graduated from Fairfield High School.

Lillian married Chester LeRoy Brown on June 29, 1945, in Fairfield.

The family moved to Spokane in the early 50s.

Lillian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, companion, and friend.

She enjoyed cooking three meals a day (and of course eating out on occasion), playing cards, living independently, dancing, spending time with family, and going to church.

Lillian was a woman of great strength and had a heart of gold.

Lillian passed away peacefully at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, WA on April 15, 2015.

She said goodbye to this world as we know it as the sun was setting and just after listening to her last episode of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Chester LeRoy Brown (1991), daughter Sharon Brown (1987), son Wayne Brown (2011), and son Chris Brown (2012).

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her companion of 18 years Edward Braulik and her daughter Diane and husband John DeYoung.

She is also survived by five grandchildren; Scott Mathisen (Spokane, WA), Deanna Mathisen-Rana (Dallas, TX), Tina Millican (Kirkland, WA), Nichole Huff (Pasco, WA), Andrea Rasmussen (Spokane, WA), Casey Brown (Spokane, WA), many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and other loving relatives and friends.

The family feels blessed and is grateful to those who gave such wonderful care to Lillian at Holy Family Hospital.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Lillian’s life on April 30, 2015 at 2:00PM Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7307 N. Nevada St., Spokane.

In lieu of flowers, Lillian’s family requests that donations in her memory be given to Holy Family Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
