Man found in north Spokane backyard identified

From staff reports

The man found dead in a north Spokane backyard last week was Dustin Mosher, 28, the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office said Tuesday.

Mosher was discovered dead in the yard of a home in the 4200 block of North Howard Street around noon on Dec. 5 by a real estate agent and his client. The home is for sale.

According to court documents, Mosher was missing one shoe and a shovel was found next to his left foot. There were tire tracks and possibly blood on grass and concrete a few feet away from his body.

Neighbors told police that they had seen a U-Haul truck and a silver car leaving the residence earlier in the day, according to court documents. A barking dog was found inside the home.

The cause and manner of Mosher’s death are pending additional toxicology reports, the medical examiner’s office said. Police spokeswoman Officer Teresa Fuller said Tuesday that it did not appear Mosher’s death was criminal, based on a preliminary investigation.
