CCS men and women advance to tournament semifinals

Jacob DeVries scored 20 points and CC Spokane beat the Umpqua Riverhawks 84-76 on Friday night to advance to the semifinals of the Dale J. Bates Invitational at Lane CC in Eugene.

Race Martin added 19 points and Dennis Patchen 16 for the Sasquatch. AJ Knudsen grabbed 10 rebounds.

CCS (8-1) will play Southwest Oregon at 4 p.m. today. Umpqua fell to 4-1.

Khadija Neumeyer scored 18 points and Bri King added 15 as CC Spokane defeated the Whatcom Orcas 75-54 to reach the semifinals of the Everett CC Tournament.

Imani Guillory added 12 points and Gese Gruber 10 for the Sasquatch (5-2) while Kierstyn Russell handed out 11 assists. Jessica Boyer grabbed 10 boards as the Sasquatch outrebounded the 0-6 Orcas 50-35, collecting 22 on the offensive boards.
