CCS men win tournament in Eugene

Tournament MVP Jacob DeVries scored 29 points and CC Spokane stormed back to beat the Seattle Mountaineers 103-100 to win the Dale J. Bates Invitational in Eugene on Sunday.

The Sasquatch (10-1) were behind most of the game and were down by 20 points with seven minutes to go when they closed the game by outscoring the Moutaineers 44-16.

Dalton Patchen, also named to the all-tournament team, had 18 points and eight rebounds for CCS. Levi Taylor added 20 points off the bench.

Seattle outshot CCS 53.4 to 41.5 percent but the Sasquatch picked up 11 more second-chance points and eight more 3-pointers.

The Mountaineers are an independent basketball club.
