Obituary: Dixon, Paul H.

Age 80

DIXON, Paul H. (Age 80) Paul passed into glory the afternoon of February 1, 2015.

He was preceded in death by Betty, his wife of 56 years.

Paul was born in Lucasville, Ohio, on January 16, 1935 to Ben and Helen Dixon.

Paul has one surviving brother, John of Loudon, Tennessee and one surviving sister Martha of Columbus, Ohio.

He leaves behind three sons, Ben, Jason, and Wade Dixon and four step-children, Carrie Grant, Mike Dixon, Randy Dixon, and Kathy Lindner.

He also has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Paul and Betty owned and operated Dixon Upholstery in Spokane for 50 years.

He enjoyed his work and was an accomplished upholsterer.

Paul’s lifetime passion was riding, training and showing horses.

Even as a young boy, he traded work at a local stable for the opportunity to ride.

He also loved football and was an All-City guard at North Central High School.

Later, he coached Little League football for over 10 years and loved teaching football skills to young players.

He also enjoyed boxing and NASCAR.

Paul lived a good life even though he suffered from heart disease since 1980.

The family would like to thank Spokane Cardiology, especially Dr. Pierre Leimgruber and Dr. Harold Goldberg, who gave Paul many happy years.

A “Celebration of Paul’s Life” will be held at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, 4305 N Division on Friday, February 6 at 11:00AM followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
